Spring break

It's not spring by the calendar yet but it's edging toward summer today. The yard is giving me that "take care of me" sad look so I cleaned up my loppers the other day and did some lopping on the vines and other things trying to smother out the blue berries again. It seems like just last month I was doing the same thing but that was last year. Time really gets away. Long as it's winter time I'm ok with it. The blue birds are back already with not just a family or two but a whole huge flock. I know there's not room in that little beat-up bird house for that many but I suppose they nest in trees, too. The bumble bees are doing their drill work and humming along with it. Now I have to be on watch for all the snakes, too.Spring break??? Not here but my daughter and one of her friends are headed to Florida tomorrow to visit Disney World and get in some beach time. She should be done with her beauty school by July so she's taking advantage of some free time to visit Florida. She could have gone to Disneyland but she's been there so many times already and is looking forward to something different. I thought about it for about five minutes. Nope, not going:(My good buddy and his wife have invited me to their yearly "spring welcome party" but not sure about that either. I don't know how they get all that cooking done, but they they do it all....fried fish, bar-b-que, and loads of other things. OK, I just got a flash back of the dirty dishes waiting on me so I'm outta here now :)

We've had some summer too but the wind is driving me crazy every afternoon. I hate the wind. Its depressing not to mention drying out the land more and more. Enjoy your bluebirds. I'm looking forward to the hummingbirds here.

We finally got up over 60 here today and it feels so great. First time I've been out with out a coat in I can't remember when. Feels like I lost 10 pounds without all the extra layers going on. It sounds like you have beach weather there without going to Florida. Enjoy your Spring Fling party if you go...if not I know you'll enjoy Spring anyway. 'On Ya'-ma

I am so looking forward to this weekend and spring that is around the corner, what I'm not looking forward to is all the work this past winter has left behind. I love being outdoors enjoying the sunshine so I might as well take on a different attitude or I'll be miserablly overwhelmed. I say go and have fun at your friends party, eat, drink and be marry! Take care and enjoy your weekend my friend,
Katie

We should have some nice weather this weekend. I wish I could get out in the yard and pick up some, but it's not happening with my knee yet! LOL

Enjoy your weekend.
