An early morning sunrise I just had to get a picture of even though it was freezing outside. Winter has come to hang around so far this week. I think tomorrow may have a bit of "spring" temps :) It was warm enough this past Sunday to sit outside and visit with my uncle and his daughter for at least an hour. It's a good thing, too, cause this almost 94yr old man still smokes his cigarettes. I guess she won't let him smoke in their very new van and they traveled 85 miles to get here. As soon as they walked in, she headed to the bathroom and he whipped out his pack! Now no one is gonna smoke in my house ; I don't care how cold it is or how old you are! So I ushered him outside where the ash tray was on the front porch and she came on out and joined us. She doesn't smoke either. Anyway, I can tell he's not quite the same as he was a few years ago and kept calling me by my mother's name. Bless his heart; he must have smoked at least three or four cigs while they were here. At that age, I see no harm done. Now, I gotta get off and find lunch. Everyone have a nice Funday :)........

I don't let people smoke in my house either, Alice. The only one it bothers is my son, but he always respects my wishes and goes outside to smoke.
I'm glad you still have your Uncle at 94. I just lose my Aunt last Saturday at age 97. She was the last living Aunt or Uncle I had left. So sad when they leave us.
Take care!
I'd say at 94 your Uncle is doing great. How nice you could visit with him and they took the time to drive all that way too. I hope you do get that Spring weather you mentioned. Every thng is still frozen here in the north.
I was just thinking of you last night. Glad you had the visit with your uncle. We are supposed to have 80 degrees tomorrow.
Hi
I have a good time shopping. I'll talk to anyone, strike up a conversation even ask another shopper if they'd seen what I can't find. I've found a lot of folk open up and put on some big smiles. And in my opinion a smile makes anybody so much better looking. A smile is the easiest single beauty trick to put on and wear all day.
No one smokes in my house either. I make my daughter go outside to smoke. If she wants to poison her lungs, she can freeze her butt off outside doing it! LOL
I'm glad you had a nice visit!
He is the same age as our friend Bud. lol Bud smokes cigars, has for years. lol My uncle (last of the family of 9) is 87 (will be 88 in March) and he is not doing well right now. Hope you have a blessed week. Janie
at 94 I think he can smoke a few cigarettes too; so glad you had a chance to visit with him; I bet the stories he knows and the history he brings of your family is fascinating to hear
hope it warms up for you guys too
betty
I am embarrassed to tell you how many cigarettes I smoke of a day. It's not cigarettes, it's packs. I'm 69 and I've been smoking since 18. But i'll be a good boy and stay outside.
Just be thankful he doesn't drink (or does he?)Bless his heart though, thats a long trip with out a vice. Take care and enjoy your today, your tomorrow and your always!
Katie
It has been quite a while since I visited you. Your stories are so heart warming. Like my mother, your uncle, at his age, can do whatever he wants!
What a beautiful photo of the sunrise. At his age I don't think smoking is a health hazard anymore. Sounds like his memory is fading. Glad you had a nice visit.
Hugs, Joyce
