Here I am

Guess I'm in the mood for a do-it-yourself picture. I'm not much on posing for others. In fact, I hate it. Anyway, I thought I'd get one in before the year is up. Maybe I'll look back in ten years and (yeah, I'm optimistic on the ten years) think "well, that wasn't so bad" like I look back on so many photos that I used to think were just plain bad. Now I've gotta get outta here and get to good ole Brookshire's since the fridge is looking sorta lonesome without it's company in there:)

Autumn days in SETexas

We've been waking up to cold temps here but warmer during the evening hours so it has been rather nice. I've been watching the reports on the fires in California and that is so scarry. With the winds down maybe they will gain control over them soon.

My oldest grandson (turned 19 in Oct) left the hospital and should be back in school today. He should have graduated last year but due to the upheaval of family life (thanks to the idiot my daughter married) he didn't make all his grades. He has to go a few hours each day and is taking a welding class. I don't know if I mentioned it but she did get a divorce from one of the biggest "methtakes" she ever made. Anyway, I think it's safe to say he's NOT in the picture anymore :)

My oldest son is beginning to get better but still doesn't drive but just a short distance of no more than five miles at a time. He actually goes with me to do his shopping whenever I go.

I have converted my storage room that's not completely finished, needing the facing around the outside door, to the doggie motel for Oscar & Meyers. I keep the door slightly open so they can go and come as they please and they are in there around 5pm every eve for their supper and beds. No one has to tell these boys when to go to bed or when to get up.

OK, that should catch me up for awhile. Hope everyone is having a really good day :)................

Staph infection

Just popping in to say hello. I've been keeping my phone line open since my oldest grandson had to go into the hospital with a bad staph infection on his right leg behind his knee. I just got word awhile ago from my daughter that the surgery was done and he was in a room. He will be able to leave the hospital Saturday evening if it's doing ok. Staph is nothing to fool around with so I plan to be careful as I can especially when going anywhere in public.
Now I'm going to try to catch up with reading :)............

Time passages...

It took so long to get this picture up I've almost forgotten what ....oh yeah.........Oscar & Meyers. Oscar is the one on the left and Meyers on the right. I have finally come to the conclusion that they are not brothers. I've noticed for a long time that Meyers has always been the one trying to get Oscar to play in the evenings. Oscar will sit and Meyers will start running and try to get him to join in. Sometimes he will and a lot of times he won't. Then I realized that the white around his mouth is not just his coloring. Looking closely one day as I was petting him it dawned on me that that is a grey beard he has. Bless his heart, he is "old". Also, he is much "colder natured" than Meyers. My guess now is he must be Meyers' dad. He's not too old to run to the woods every evening now in cooler weather and stay for hours, however. Night before last they didn't make it in 'till about two hours after dark. I kept checking on them to let them in on the back porch and they finally showed up starving for their supper. Then yesterday evening late they came back and I tried to pet Meyers and he was soaking wet so I knew they had been to the creek behind here in the hunting club. It's all fenced and posted now but we used to walk to it when the kids were little and they even had a crude campsite and they would ride their horses to and spend the night. There would be as many as five or six boys at times and they just loved it. I guess time does change no matter what our clocks say :)...........

Here it is November already. Time goes fast when you're having fun I've always heard. Hmmm... (trying to remember the fun part). One of the very best days was the morning we woke up to much cooler weather and there were only a few black love bugs hanging around and then they slowly disappeared completely. Ahhhh, what a relief!

There's a crew of workers in our area with heavy equipment cleaning up all the fallen trees and limbs along the highways and all the roads. They got a lot of them out in front of my dad's house on his property so I'm hoping they will get what's left of the big tree that fell across my drive-way. Enough of it was cut out for me to use the drive-way by my cousin. They haven't made it this far yet but I have an idea they will make it before the day is over.

OK the Oscar & Meyers are barking at someone so I need to get out of here and get this day started (again) with another cup:)
