Any excuse is

ok with me when it comes to taking a break from the nasty job I tackled this morning and that is mowing for the first time this year. My son has gone over it with the big tractor a couple of times but it's not the same. I like it short! But here's my excuse for sitting here and telling you about it: I decided to mow around the blueberries and when I made a sharp turn, I hit a fire ant hill (or should I say castle) and mower wouldn't mow anymore! I dismounted very quickly before the ants made it up to where I was sitting and that's where it still is, bogged down in an ant hill!! I got about half the yard done anyway. Maybe since it's mother's day this Sunday, I can get someone to get it loose for me. However, not above begging if necessary!

Now what was I

Oscar debating with a bee he caught

all by himself. He's facinated with them.

going to write about! I start to get in here to make an entry and there's email to check and then there's always something in the news I just have to read. All the organizing has got my brain disoriented anyway. Taking a break and it may be a long one since I've really gotten the organizing under control except for one more drawer and that will be easy cause it's all going O U T. I sold Avon for many years and it's a drawer full of old colognes. A joy for anyone who might collect Avon bottles. I do have some from high school days that someone else will have to deal with some day. Can still smell the "To a Wild Rose" scent in one of them that a friend gave me.

This is what it looks like here today and has for so many days I can't remember. I think it all started last Friday when it get really bad with very high winds. Hope these pics turn out where I plan for them to go, but who knows until all is done and published:) I know this is a little long winded for me today but there's a part of this body that doesn't want to move:(

The bumble bee battle

has been added to my springtime activities and my batting average is getting pretty darned good. Oscar&Meyers love watching all this and probably think it's a game. Oscar actually picked one up that landed on the cement but wasn't expired yet. He carried it out on the grass, went back and got another one and placed it right by the other one. Well heck, a game is a game! Anyway, these busy little bees are determined to make sawdust out of my house and I'm determined that they are not! Otherwise, it's back to regular daily living and taking care of me takes up a lot of time:)

My daughter and I did go to the baby shower for the new little girl who is due May 22. It was a cowgirl theme (seems like I know a cowgirl on here somewhere). Her name will be Ashlynn Fayth and the "Fay" in Fayth is in my honor. Thankfully she added the "th" cause I hate that name and omit it from all possible things. The picture at the top is the cowgirl cake:)
The next picture was taken of my grandson's date for the senior prom the week-end before last. My daughter/his mom made the hand corsage. She has only been allowed to date him for about six months but they have been friends for at least two years. Her parents are very protective and that is a very good thing to be. He has never dated anyone else that I'm aware of and she hasn't either. He begged to go in my car instead of his shiney little red Toyota. He said "But grannie, I'm gonna be wearing a tux and she's gonna be in a formal dress and I don't think her dress will fit in my car." I told him that I bet we could cram that dress in before I finally said OK. He spent over an hour washing and cleaning my car but the next day it was dirtier than ever after he got through running all over the place in it. He was runner up for prom king.LOL
