I can't believe

I had just commented on Cindi's blog that I should post the pic of "our pet" alligator in my daughter's pond. That is him/her at the edge of the water but not very clear. You can see his eye and the top of his head. My grandson is feeding him, I think. About twenty mins after I commented on her blog, my grandson came in and said that someone had shot his alligator!! I couldn't believe it!!!! There are alligators all over SE Texas but this was a first for this little pond. We have a VERY good idea who did it but not much you can do about it.
The wind here today is just insane. Maybe tomorrow will be calmer and cooler:)

Oscar & Meyers

are still my best little buddies and doing what they think they are supposed to do. Protecting their turf is one of them. My cousin/neighbor across from me has two very large dogs (one being part pit bull) and one very fuzzy pomeranian called Gus and sometimes they come strolling by on the street (road) and my two go running down the drive to make sure they don't come any further. I was out on the porch a few mornings ago with my cup of lets-get-going and the three of them were strolling by and of course my dogs really had to show off for me and went running down the drive toward them screaming all kinds of obscenities at them. I have a BB gun right by the screen door just in case it's really needed and I just knew this would be one of those times. I put my coffee down and quickly got the gun and walked out with it. By that time the three of them were already down my drive and pushing my two around with pommy Gus egging the two BIG dogs on. I shouted at them to get and then shot off a bb at them all. They sort of paused and looked at me and right back at it. So, like Annie Oakly, I just held the gun outward and sort of took aim at pit bull never in a million years thinking I'd hit. UHOH, it got him right in the butt and he wheeled around and checked the spot and led the other two with him right on back to the street and hurrying toward their turf. I was amazed that it hit cauze it was a good 50 ft from where I stood. Strange things happen but I think the three of them thought my two little dogs did it :)

A squirrelley story~~~~

Just have to share this with you before I forget about it. My cousin who lives across the field was telling me about her husband watching a squirrel bury some acorns. When he got done, he cleaned his paws and face really good. Guess he didn't think it was good enough so he reached behind him, got his tail and finished the face cleaning with the fluffy end of it. Would have loved to have been there with a video cam to capture that one.
Thank you ladies so much for your kind words of welcome back. Rather inspiring:)'s
